Alert Panel Documentation & Support

Complete installation walkthroughs, Lightning page configuration guides, and direct technical support.

1 Package Installation

Alert Panel is distributed as a 100% Native Managed Package via the Salesforce AppExchange.

  1. Log into your Salesforce production or sandbox instance as a System Administrator.
  2. Visit the Alert Panel listing on the Salesforce AppExchange and click Get It Now.
  3. Choose your destination environment (we recommend testing in Sandbox before production deployment).
  4. Select Install for Admins Only or Install for All Users according to your org security policy.
  5. Click Install and approve the package components.

2 Assigning Permission Sets

Alert Panel includes pre-configured permission sets to grant appropriate visibility without modifying standard profiles.

  1. Navigate to Setup > in Quick Find type Permission Sets.
  2. Select Alert Panel Admin (for administrators configuring alert rules) or Alert Panel User (for standard view access).
  3. Click Manage Assignments > Add Assignment.
  4. Select the intended users or user groups and click Assign.

3 Adding to Record Pages

Place the Alert Panel component directly onto Account, Contact, Opportunity, or Custom Object record views.

  1. Open any target record in Salesforce (e.g., an Account record).
  2. Click the Gear Icon (⚙️) in the top right and select Edit Page to open the Lightning App Builder.
  3. In the left-hand component panel under Custom - Managed, locate alertPanel.
  4. Drag and drop the Alert Panel component to the top header region of the record layout.
  5. Click Save and Activate as the Org Default or App/Record Type specific assignment.

4 Configuring Dynamic Alerts

Create condition-based alert banners via Custom Metadata or declarative component attributes.

  • Severity Themes: Set visual alert levels (Critical / Red, Warning / Orange, Info / Blue, Success / Green).
  • Conditional Visibility: Use Lightning App Builder filter criteria (e.g., Account.Status__c EQUALS 'At Risk') to dynamically display banners only when conditions are met.
